Increase in drug use in UP


Lucknow: The consumption of beer has increased by 74 percent in comparison to country and English liquor in UP. The officials of the Excise Department themselves say that after the Corona period, now the consumption of beer is increasing due to the complete opening of schools, colleges, universities and their hostels. Liquor and beer shops were closed for a total of 46 days between March and May last year.

Apart from this, due to the approaching assembly elections, the consumption of country and English liquor and beer is also increasing. Apart from their workers, potential candidates have intensified the process of drinking and drinking to make voters in their favor from now on.

Not only beer and liquor, but now the consumption of opium, ganja, charas, heroin, morphine, in addition to intoxicating injections, tablets, cough syrup made from the opium fraction codeine, is also increasing rapidly. Data from the Control Bureau of Narcotics shows that smuggling of illicit opium from Jharkhand to different parts of UP is also increasing in the last two years. This illegal opium is being consumed by the pharmaceutical companies of UP. Bureau officials themselves admit that pharma sector is on their radar, some wholesale drug dealers have also been caught.
