Haridwar, Dehradun- Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami today flagged off 20 new air-conditioned UTC Mini Tempo Traveller of Uttarakhand Transport Corporation in Dehradun. In the initial phase, this service will be operated on 10 tempos on Dehradun-Mussoorie and 10 Haldwani-Nainital routes.
After the inauguration, the Chief Minister himself travelled in UTC Mini from the Camp Office to the GTC Helipad and shared his experience and said:
These services will reduce traffic pressure at tourist destinations and passengers will get easy, safe and economical travel options. If the service is successful, it will be expanded to other routes as well.
These tempo travellers are equipped with modern facilities like air conditioning, digital ticketing, online booking and tracking system. This will help in promoting tourism in the state and will also provide an easy commuting option for the local people.
The Chief Minister said that electric buses will also be included in the Transport Corporation’s plan soon, which will give impetus to green transport in the state.
Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has been continuously in profit for the last three years. During this period, the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission were implemented, dearness allowance (DA) was increased and recruitments were made to replenish human resources, due to which there is an atmosphere of satisfaction among the employees.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Shri Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Naresh Bansal, Principal Secretary Shri L. Fanai, and MD of Transport Corporation Smt. Reena Joshi along with many other officials and public representatives were present.
The Chief Minister said that this service will not only strengthen the state’s transport system but will also boost tourism and local economic activities. The government’s aim is to connect every region of the state with better road network and reliable transport service.
