In this way, the Women’s World Cup is going to return to India after 12 years. The Women’s T20 World Cup was played in India in 2016. A total of 8 teams will participate in the tournament, including hosts India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Australia will enter the tournament as the defending champions, having defeated England in the final of the Women’s World Cup 2022 held in New Zealand in 2022. Australia is also the most successful team in the history of the tournament, having become champions seven times.
Pakistan will play its matches here
The matches of this tournament in India will be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore and ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. However, the Pakistan team will not come to India to participate in the World Cup. The Pakistan team will play its World Cup matches at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. At the same time, India will play its first match in Bengaluru on 30 September. The tournament will be played on a round-robin basis, with a total of 28 league stage matches. If the Pakistan team reaches the semi-finals and the final, then the matches will be played in Colombo. T20 World Cup 2026 starts from June 12
Along with the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, England has been confirmed as the host of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 to be played next year. The Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will start on June 12 at Edgbaston, Birmingham, in which the England team will play the first match. At the same time, the final will be played on July 5. A total of 33 matches will be played across 7 venues during these 24 days, including Birmingham (Edgbaston), London (The Oval and Lord’s), Old Trafford Cricket Ground (Manchester), Headingley (Leeds), The Hampshire Bowl (Southampton) and Bristol County Ground. The Oval will host both the semi-finals, while the final will be held at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground on 5 July 2026. Both the semi-finals will be played at The Oval in London on 30 June and 2 July 2026.
