Paris: Indian para athletes are continuously showing great performance in the Paralympic Games going on in Paris, the capital of France. On the 7th day, India has now got 2 medals, in which Harvinder Singh has succeeded in winning the gold medal (Gold medal) in Archery. Harvinder succeeded in winning the medal by defeating Poland’s para athlete Lukasz Ciszek in three consecutive sets in the final match of the men’s individual recurve gold medal match. This is also India’s first medal in Archery at Paris Olympics and Paralympics.
Took lead in three sets and defeated by 6-0
Harvinder Singh’s brilliant performance was seen in the gold medal match in which he won the first set with a score of 28-24 and scored 2 important points. After this, Harvinder again scored 28 in the second set and the para athlete from Poland was able to score 27, due to which this set also went to Harvinder and he took a lead of 4-0. In the third set, Harvinder won by a margin of 29-25 and collected 2 points and succeeded in winning the gold medal by defeating 6-0. Earlier, Harvinder made a brilliant comeback after trailing 1-3 against the para athlete from Iran in the semi-final match and won by 7-3 and confirmed his place for the gold medal match.
So far India has been successful in winning 22 medals
With Harvinder Singh winning the gold medal in archery, India has also won 22 medals in Paris Paralympics 2024. This is India’s best performance in the history of Paralympics so far. So far India has won 4 gold, 8 silver, 10 bronze, which is sure to increase further. So far in Paralympics, apart from archery, India has won gold medals in shooting, athletics and badminton.
