Test cricket: If we look at the current time in world cricket, then the future of one format is often discussed and that is Test cricket. The World Test Championship was also started by the ICC to save Test cricket, of which a total of three seasons have been played so far. At the same time, a big statement has come from the current CEO of Cricket Australia, (t Australia) bTodd Greenberg, regarding the future of Test cricket, in which he has advised all countries not to play this format.
Lack of Test cricket is not harmful for us but beneficial
Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg said in his statement that I do not think there is a fixed number of countries playing Tests. But I think that in the future, the lack of Test cricket will not be harmful but beneficial for us. What I mean to say is that I do not think that every country in world cricket needs to have the desire to play Test cricket. There is no problem with this. Many people who like Test cricket may not like my statement, but if we force some countries which are financially weak to play Test cricket, then we would really be trying to make these countries bankrupt.
Australia has to host the Ashes at the end of this year
Ashes series is to be played in Australia at the end of 2025, for which most of the fans of world cricket apart from Australia and England are eagerly waiting. Let us tell you that Todd Greenberg’s statement about the future of Test cricket has come at a time when on the one hand the exciting Test series between England and India has ended, while on the other hand Australia defeated West Indies in a one-sided Test series, while New Zealand also easily won the series against Zimbabwe.
