BJP won the by-election in Gopalganj, Bihar

Owaisi spoils Tejashwi’s game in Lalu Prasad’s home district, BJP won for the 5th time
Gopalganj. Asaduddin Owaisi’s party All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’s home district Gopalganj spoiled the political game of Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav. Tejashwi Yadav’s maternal uncle and former Gopalganj MP Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav’s stature has also decreased in the by-election. In the midst of all this, the BJP won the Gopalganj Sadar assembly seat for the fifth time in a row and maintained its record of victory.

In the assembly by-election, the RJD candidate supported by the Grand Alliance from Gopalganj again got a crushing defeat. BJP candidate and wife of late MLA Subhash Singh Kusum Devi won by a margin of 1794 votes. Kusum Devi got total 70053 votes while RJD candidate Mohan Prasad Gupta got 68259 votes. The difference of votes in defeat and victory was very less. BJP managed to save its seat. On the other hand, the RJD, which entered the election fray along with seven parties of the Grand Alliance, got defeated.

Gopalganj assembly by-election took place due to the death of MLA Subhash Singh. Late Singh had been MLA from here for four consecutive terms with a spotless image. He did not have any political or mutual conflict with anyone. In 2005, he became an MLA for the first time by defeating RJD candidate Reyzul Haque Raju. After this, for the second time in 2010, RJD’s Reyzul Haque Raju lost. In 2015 too, Reyjul Haque Raju was defeated by 5200 votes and in the year 2020, Mahagathbandhan supported Congress candidate Ashif Ghafoor got a crushing defeat by 36 thousand votes and Subhash Singh was elected MLA for the fourth time. While being an MLA, he had become a cooperative minister in the Bihar government in the NDA government, but after becoming a minister, he was continuously ill. He died on 16 August in a Delhi hospital after suffering from kidney disease.
Kusum Devi became MLA for three years

The term of the MLA is five years, after the completion of the two-year term, this election has been held for three years, in which Kusum Devi, the wife of the late MLA, has won. Kusum Devi was elected MLA on Sunday for three years. Now the assembly elections are to be held in the year 2025.

Mo. Showing factor of Shahabuddin’s family

In Gopalganj assembly by-election, Mohd. The factor of Shahabuddin’s family has been shown. People of minority-dominated area say that for campaigning in the by-election, Mr. Shahabuddin’s family was asked to call his wife Heena Sahab or his son Osama, but the RJD sidelined his family in the by-election and even his picture was not given a place in the banner-poster. Due to this, there was resentment among the minority voters of Uchkagaon and Thawe blocks, the result of which also came out on Sunday. Abdul Salam got 12 thousand 214 votes even after not getting the symbol of AIMIM.

Tejashwi Yadav played the Vaish card

Reyazul Haque Raju, a strong RJD leader from the Grand Alliance, used to contest elections continuously, but Raju used to lose continuously. Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav played the Vaishya card this time by cutting the ticket of minority candidate Reyzul Haque Raju in the by-election. The city’s gold-silver big businessman Mohan Prasad Gupta was fielded, who comes from the Kalwar community. In the by-election, Reyazul Haque Raju campaigned for Mohan Prasad Gupta in a minority-dominated area. RJD considers Reyjul Haq Raju as the leader of minorities, so Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav also went to Reyjul Haque Raju’s house to assure him, but it did not show effective in the by-election.

In the by-election, the stature of former MP Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav, uncle of Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, has also decreased. Sadhu Yadav’s wife Indira Yadav had entered the field from BSP. Indira Yadav has got 8854 votes. Last time in the 2020 election, Sadhu Yadav got 41039 votes from BSP and was second. But this time by the math of votes, she is at number four.
