A 12-year-old boy was killed and around 52 people were injured when a fire broke out at a Durga Puja pandal in Aurai police station area of ​​Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday night. According to official information, a child died and 52 people were burnt to death due to a massive fire at a puja committee’s pandal in Narthua village, a hundred meters away from Aurai police station. Prima facie the cause of the fire is being told as short circuit.

District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi said that Ankush Soni (12) died of burns due to fire and 52 others including women and children were scorched. According to him, high officials of police and administration also reached the spot and they got involved in relief and rescue. Rathi said that the matter of fire in Durga Puja pandal is being investigated. A fire department official said that the incident happened around 9.30 pm when the aarti was going on. According to him, around 300 people were present in the pandal at the time of the accident. They say that prima facie the reason for the fire is believed to be an electrical short circuit.

After the fire broke out, there was a scream on the spot. Wherever he found his way, he started running. However, the reason for the fire is not clear. It is suspected that the fire started due to short circuit. According to media reports, 12 ambulances have been sent from Mirzapur. At the same time, about 30 ambulances of Bhadohi district are also engaged in taking people to the hospital. According to eyewitnesses, after the fire in the Durga Puja pandal, the situation of stampede was created, during which this incident took place. A large number of police forces have been deployed on the spot.
