tail. Terrorists secretly attacked an army truck in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. 5 soldiers were martyred in this attack. The terrorists ambushed and attacked the soldiers in such a way that before they could understand anything, indiscriminate firing started. Of the soldiers who were martyred in this attack, 5 are from Punjab while one is from Odisha. Their names are Havaldar Mandeep Singh, Debasish Baswal, Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, Sepoy Harkishan Singh and Sepoy Sevak Singh.
There is a lot of anger in the families of these soldiers who were victims of this cowardly act of terrorists. Some of them had small children and some had got married some time back. But there is a wave of mourning in the villages of these jawans who were victims of terrorist attack. The strictest action is being demanded against the terrorists who targeted these soldiers.
Married two years ago, daughter is 7 months old(-month-old)
Among the martyred soldiers, Lance Naik Debasish Biswal was a resident of Puri district of Odisha. He got married in 2021 itself. Apart from his wife, there is also a seven-month-old baby girl in his family. Biswal was 30 years old and was well known among the people of his village Algum. He was an inspiration to the local youth. Biswal had given a feast to the whole village when his daughter was 21 days old.
Father gave sacrifice in Kargil war
The son of martyr Jawan Kulwant Singh of Charik village in Moga district of Punjab was born only four months back. Kulwant used to take care of even the smallest things for his child after being away from home. He also has a one and a half year old daughter. Kulwant’s father was also in the army and had sacrificed his life for the country in the Kargil war. Then Kulwant was only 2 years old.
Constable Harkrishna Singh, a resident of Talwandi Barth village of Batala, had recently come to meet his family. Hours before the attack, he had a video call with his wife and two-year-old daughter. Martyr Sepoy Sevak Singh was a resident of Bagha village of Bathinda. On the other hand, Havaldar Mandeep Singh was a resident of Ludhiana district.
After paying homage to the martyred jawans at a function in Rajouri, the mortal remains of Lance Naik Debasish of Alagum Sami village in Puri district in Odisha were airlifted to his native place for last rites.
The mortal remains of Mandeep Singh, Kulwant Singh, Harkrishna Singh and Sewak Singh are being sent by road to their native places in Punjab.
