Lucknow. Amit Kumar Bhagat, a native of Bihar’s Purnia, has been detained by the police along with Rs 10 lakh in cash near Kaiserbagh bus stand in the Wazirganj police station area of capital Lucknow. After not giving the correct answer in the police inquiry, the Income Tax Department was informed about the recovered amount. The Income Tax team reached the spot and confiscated the cash. Inspector in-charge of Wazirganj police station Manoj Kumar Mishra told that the checking was being done in view of the civic elections. Only then a young man named Amit Kumar Bhagat appeared coming from the other side of the road. He had a bag in his hand and on checking found Rs 10 lakh in cash.
He further told that Amit was brought to the police station and he was strictly interrogated and asked about the cash but even after repeated questioning, he could not give any answer. Amit Kumar Bhagat Keshav Nagar lives on Sitapur Road and is a resident of Bihar. The information of the entire incident has been given to the Income Tax Department. Further action is being taken.
