Patna. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a meeting of the Janata Dal (United) Legislature Party on Thursday evening amidst the hue and cry over spurious liquor. In this meeting, he asked the MLAs, should liquor ban be abolished? On this, all the MLAs said in one voice that liquor prohibition should not be abolished at any cost. It is noteworthy that within the last 48 hours in Chhapra, spurious liquor has created hue and cry. Officially 30 people have died after drinking spurious liquor. For this, a special team of three DSPs and 31 policemen has been formed. SP will lead this team. Regarding the incident, DM Saran Rajesh Meena told that the postmortem of 3 dead bodies has been done in Sadar Hospital Chhapra and 27 in Patna. DM Saran said that the negligence of SDPO Marhaura sub-division Indrajit Baitha has come to the fore in this incident. His transfer has been recommended along with departmental action against him, while Mashrak police station officer Ritesh Kumar Mishra and watchman Vikesh Tiwari have been suspended on charges of dereliction of duty.

According to the information, FIR has been registered in Isuapur and Mashrak police station. The leadership of the SIT team has been handed over to ASP cum SDPO Sonpur Anjani Kumar. Three police DSPs and 31 police officers have been included in the SIT. Meanwhile, the police has started the investigation of the seized spirit in all the police stations of the district. In particular, the samples of spirit seized at Mashrak police station have been sent to the laboratory for examination.
