Lucknow. Police have recovered a pistol and repeater gun from the flat of Lakhimpur violence accused Ankit Das. While the license of the pistol is in the name of Ankit Das, the license of the repeater gun is in the name of his bodyguard Latif alias Kale. Ankit Gupta has an apartment in the Clay Square Society in Hussainganj, Lucknow. Earlier, Crime Branch had arrested Ankit Das last Wednesday. Ankit had told during interrogation that he had met Ashish Mishra before the incident and on telling about the protesting farmers, Ashish had said that let’s teach them a lesson.
He had told that on the day of the incident he had gone to receive Deputy CM Keshav Maurya. He told that behind the Thar I was in the Kali Fortuner which was being run by Shekhar Bharti. He told that the jeep running ahead went ahead crushing the farmers.
Ankit had told that the jeep overturned after crushing the farmers. Hari Om Mishra was driving the jeep. After this the mob attacked. Ankit said that we were nervous and after getting out of the car, Kale and I fired at the crowd. With this he fled from the spot. At the same time, Kale told that he has been working as bodyguard and gunner of Ankit Das for about ten years.
At the same time, during interrogation, Kale had told that Hariom was driving the Thar car going ahead and two people were standing at his foot. At the same time, Shekhar Bharti was driving the vehicle in which it was marked. Kale told that Ankit has a pistol and he has a repeater gun. Kale had also told that he had fired at the farmers when they were surrounded.
