Manipur: After the break of the alliance with the BJP in Bihar, the discussion of Nitish Kumar withdrawing support to the 5 MLA government of Janata Dal United was in full swing in Manipur too. But instead of withdrawing support from BJP, 5 out of 6 JDU MLAs left the party and joined BJP.
By issuing a notification in this regard, the Secretary of the Legislative Assembly has informed all the members of the Legislative Assembly about this. It has been told in the notification that under the Tenth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, these 5 MLAs will now belong to the BJP in the assembly.
According to sources, these MLAs were upset over the party’s decision to come out of the NDA alliance in Bihar. The special thing is that the JDU MLAs in Manipur have taken this decision to join BJP after Nitish Kumar’s announcement in which he had asked to withdraw his support to the BJP government in Manipur.
Significantly, on the one hand, Nitish Kumar is seeing himself as the candidate for the post of PM, while on the other hand, BJP is constantly making a dent in his party. This is the second blow to JDU in the last nine days. Earlier on August 25, Teki Kaso, the lone JDU MLA in Arunachal Pradesh, had joined the BJP in the presence of BJP national president JP Nadda.
Let us tell you that Nitish Kumar broke ties with the BJP in Bihar only last month. Nitish Kumar distanced himself from the NDA, accusing the BJP of humiliating him and breaking the JDU. After this, Nitish Kumar’s party JDU joined hands with the RJD-led Grand Alliance. In the new government of the Grand Alliance, Nitish Kumar once again became the CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was sworn in as the Deputy CM.
