Russia has no objection to India’s mediation in the war with Ukraine

Ukraine and Russia: On the 37th day of the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said on Friday that Russia has no objection to India’s mediation in the war with Ukraine, as India’s stand has been fair since the beginning of the war with Ukraine. And India never came under pressure from America. Lavrov said that Russia is committed to supplying any goods with India in the defense sector.

On the purchase of Russian crude oil, Lavrov said that if India wants to buy anything from Russia, then we are ready to discuss it. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting with the leaders of India in New Delhi on Friday. Lavrov had visited China before coming to India. Signs are clear that Russia is trying to woo Asian powers in response to Western sanctions.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said after meeting Indian counterpart S Jaishankar on Friday that Russia has no problem with India’s mediation in the war with Ukraine. However, he also said that India’s offer of mediation was not brought before Russia because till now India’s stand has been completely neutral and it did not come under pressure from America.

Lavrov said that we will be ready to supply to India any goods that it wants to buy from us. We are also ready for discussion. He reiterated that Russia and India enjoy very good relations.

No special operation in Ukraine
Lavrov also clarified on the Ukraine crisis. Said you called it war which is not true. This is a special operation. Its aim is to uphold the sovereignty and integrity of Russia. Let us tell you that after the attack on Ukrainian soil in February, Russia is struggling with sanctions from Western countries. In such a situation, Russia is trying to reduce the damage of sanctions by visiting two powerful countries of Asia, India and China.

America has also talked to India on Ukraine crisis
Earlier on Thursday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a telephonic conversation with Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and discussed the “deteriorating humanitarian situation in Ukraine” and other matters.

Significantly, India and China are the only major countries that have not condemned Russia’s actions. After Lavrov’s visit to China this week, Beijing said it was more determined to develop bilateral ties with Russia.
