Lakhimpur Kheri. In the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, Ashish Mishra, the son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra and the nominated accused, has been arrested by the police. DIG Atul Agarwal has informed about the arrest of Ashish Mishra.
Giving information about the arrest of Ashish Mishra alias Monu, the police said that Ashish was not giving correct information about the incident and he was not cooperating in the investigation. Ashish was arrested after 12 hours of interrogation under the sections of murder, accidental death, criminal conspiracy, reckless driving.
During the interrogation of the police, Ashish Mishra could not answer the questions of the police. Ashish could not give the details of 2:30 am to 3:30 pm on the day of the incident. DIG Upendra Aggarwal said that Ashish Mishra is not cooperating in the investigation, is not giving proper answers to the questions, we have arrested him officially, now he will be presented in the court after getting medical.
Let us tell you that the opposition was continuously demanding the arrest of Ashish Mishra. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait had also demanded Ashish’s arrest. Meanwhile, the UP government had said that it would give justice to the aggrieved party in this case without any pressure.
It is noteworthy that 8 people, including 4 farmers, lost their lives in the Lakhimpur violence. The Uttar Pradesh government had announced a compensation of Rs 45-45 lakh to the families of all the deceased farmers.
