Voting for the sixth phase begins, CM Yogi casts his vote in Gorakhpur


Voting will be held today for the sixth phase of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. Gorakhpur Sadar, the seat of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is also included in this phase. The duty of 797.94 company paramilitary forces has been imposed for the security of polling for voting. In the last Vidhan Sabha elections of 2017, 56.52 percent polling was recorded in these 10 districts of Purvanchal. Voting will start from 7 am and will be held till 6 pm. In the sixth phase, votes will be cast in 57 seats in 10 districts of the state. In these districts, voting will be held in 57 seats in 10 districts including Ambedkar Nagar, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria and Ballia.

The Election Commission has deployed 56 General Observers, 10 Police Observers and 18 Expenditure Observers to keep an eye on the polling. Apart from this, 1680 Sector Magistrates, 228 Zonal Magistrates, 173 Static Magistrates and 2137 Micro Observers have also been deployed. Along with this, a Senior General Observer, a Senior Police Observer and two Senior Expenditure Observers have also been deployed at the state level.
