Patna: A few steps away from the Gandhi Maidan police station in the capital Patna, the robbers carried out the biggest robbery ever. On Friday, at 2 pm, four criminals robbed gold jewelery worth more than 12 crores and about Rs 13 lakh in cash in Bakarganj area.
The criminals took 35 kg of gold (18 carat) along with the jewelery kept in the SS Jewelers shop located in Bakerganj. Its value is said to be more than Rs 12 crore. The robbers also opened fire on the shopkeeper’s son Yash Raj for opposing the robbery. In which he narrowly survived. In about fifteen minutes, the criminals started running away after collecting the looted goods. Meanwhile, the mob caught a robber. Then thrashed him fiercely and handed him over to the police. The arrested robber has been identified as a sadhu resident of Jehanabad. Some gold looted in a bag, a pistol and a white Apache bike have been recovered from the robber. After the robbery incident, the bullion traders, who were angry with this, created a ruckus by jamming Bakarganj. Angry businessmen were raising slogans against the police.
As soon as the news of this big incident was received, the police of many police stations including SP City reached the spot. An FIR has been registered at Kadamkuan police station. According to shopkeeper Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Fisherman Toli, four criminals entered the shop posing as customers. After this the robbers asked to show the earrings. Suddenly the criminals took out the pistol and started taking out all the jewellery. When the shopkeeper’s elder son protested, the criminals fired one round at him. Seeing the firing, the shopkeeper and a customer present there, eight people including the worker were horrified. After this the robbers comfortably vacated the entire shop.
