Schools, colleges all closed in West Bengal

Kolkata: Due to the increasing cases of corona virus infection in West Bengal, the state government has again implemented strict restrictions related to Kovid-19. Giving information about the new rules implemented in the state in the press conference, Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi said that all these restrictions will be effective from January 3 to January 15.

He said that rapid antigen test will be mandatory for passengers coming from non-risk category countries, while RT-PCR test will also be done for 10 percent of these passengers. From January 5, flights will be allowed from Mumbai and New Delhi only twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. Whereas no flight has been allowed to come from Britain.

What relaxation will be available in Bengal amid restrictions:

Only essential services will be allowed in the state from 10 pm to 5 am. Local trains will run with 50 per cent capacity till 7 pm. All shopping malls and markets will remain open at half capacity till 10 pm. Metro train in Kolkata Services will continue with 50 per cent capacity. Both government and private offices will continue to function with 50 per cent staff. Cinema halls and theaters will also be allowed to open with 50 per cent capacity. Meetings with a maximum of 200 persons at a time and Conferencing will be allowed. Bars and restaurants will be allowed to open with 50 percent capacity till 10 pm. While home delivery of food and other essential items will be done as per the pre-determined time.
These activities will be banned

All schools, colleges and universities in the state will remain closed. In these institutions, employees will be allowed to work with 50 percent capacity only for administrative work.
All flights coming from the UK will be temporarily suspended.
All programs related to ‘Dway Sarkar’ have been postponed and will be resumed from February 1. Swimming pool, spa, gym, beauty parlor, salon and wellness centers will remain closed. All entertainment parks, zoos, tourist places will remain closed Not more than 50 people will be allowed to attend the wedding ceremony and only 20 people will be allowed to attend the funeral.
According to the State Health Department, 4512 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in West Bengal on Saturday, while their number was 1061 on Friday. 2398 new cases of corona infection have been found in Kolkata.
