Captain Harmanpreet Kaur revealed the big mistake  ( Harmanpreet )

WPL: In WPL 2026, the Mumbai Indians team faced a 7-wicket defeat against UP Warriors. In this match, Mumbai batted first and scored 161 runs. The UP team then secured the victory thanks to Harleen Deol’s explosive batting. Mumbai’s bowlers did not perform well at all in the match. After the match, Mumbai captain Harmanpreet    ( Harmanpreet )   Kaur also revealed the main reason for the defeat.

Not enough runs on the scoreboard: Harmanpreet Kaur
Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur believes that there weren’t enough runs on the scoreboard. She said that she felt a score of 180 or around that would have been quite good, but batting first on this pitch is not easy at all. We still did well in the powerplay and didn’t lose any wickets. But unfortunately, there weren’t enough runs on the board. I think the credit goes to Harleen Deol for the way she batted today.

Harmanpreet Kaur said that it’s always better to chase when there is dew. There was a lot of dew today, and hopefully, we will come back with a better approach in the upcoming matches. Regarding using other bowling options, she said that she thinks it was a great opportunity for the team to give some overs to other bowlers. The bowlers were not able to grip the ball properly. There weren’t enough runs on the scoreboard.

Harleen Deol played a brilliant innings
Nat Sciver-Brunt showcased a powerful batting performance for the Mumbai Indians team. She scored 65 runs off 43 balls, including 9 fours and one six. It was because of her that the Mumbai team managed to reach 161 runs. But later, Harleen Deol played an explosive innings for the UP Warriors team. He scored a total of 64 runs off 39 balls, including two fours and a six, and single-handedly led his team to victory. He was awarded the Player of the Match award for his excellent performance.
