India defeated Sri Lanka in a thrilling match ( defeated ) 

Thiruvanan thapuram: In the fifth match of the T20 series played in Thiruvananthapuram, the Indian women’s team defeated     ( defeated )   Sri Lanka by 15 runs. With this, the Indian women’s team completed a clean sweep against Sri Lanka. India defeated Sri Lanka comprehensively in all five matches. In the final match, India, batting first, scored 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. In reply, the Sri Lankan team could only manage 160 runs. This is the first time the Indian women’s team has achieved a clean sweep against Sri Lanka in a T20 series.

Harmanpreet Kaur played a captain’s innings for Team India
After losing the toss and batting first, Team India did not have a good start in this match. Shafali Verma, who had been batting brilliantly in this series so far, failed to perform in this match, getting out after scoring 5 runs off 6 balls. Debutant G Kamalini was dismissed after scoring 12 runs off 12 balls. Harleen Deol also got out after scoring 13 runs. After the Indian innings faltered, captain Harmanpreet Kaur took charge.

Sri Lanka’s chase of the target also got off to a poor start. Captain Chamari Athapaththu was dismissed cheaply. Athapaththu was out after scoring just two runs off five balls. However, Hasini and Imesha then steadied the innings, and the two forged a half-century partnership for the second wicket. Imesha completed her half-century in 38 balls. Amanjot Kaur gave India their second breakthrough by dismissing Imesha Dulani on the very first ball of her first over. Imesha was out after scoring 50 runs off 39 balls with the help of eight fours. There was a 79-run partnership between Imesha and Hasini for the second wicket. After the dismissal of these two, the Sri Lankan innings faltered. In the end, after batting for 20 overs, the Sri Lankan team could only manage 160 runs.
