Dehradun- To educate poor, orphan and helpless girls up to graduation level and provide skill education, cheques worth 6.17 lakhs were distributed to 18 girls today under District Magistrate Savin’s ambitious project “Nanda-Sunanda”. Under Project Nanda-Sunanda, education of 56 girls has been revived with an amount of 19.24 lakhs till now.
District Magistrate Savin Bansal praised the members of the selection committee, ground staff and their team for selecting eligible girls under Project Nanda-Sunanda and said that they are enthusiastically contributing to this work.
He said that this project should continue and keep reviving the education of deserving girls. Helping a child means helping the entire family and this has a huge impact. It is a good thing that daughters of helpless and distressed families want to study and move ahead. The administration is always making efforts to help the girls in whatever way it can. Encouraging the children, he said that children should always keep the flame of their education alive. He said that children should never compromise with their education and should read the biographies of great men; the education one gets from their biographies cannot be got from anywhere else.
The District Magistrate said that even though Project Nanda-Sunanda is an initiative of the District Administration, it is moving forward with the inspiration and support of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Government, who has always supported innovation and public welfare projects. On this occasion, the Chief Development Officer expressed his gratitude to the team and encouraged the children to keep moving forward; the administration will provide all possible help. On this occasion, Joint Magistrate Harshita Singh encouraged the girls. Inspired by the resolve of Hon’ble Chief Minister, DM’s Project Nanda Sunanda is a hit; education of 56 girls has been revived. Today, the DM distributed cheques worth Rs. 6.17 lakh to 18 girls who became Nanda Sunanda. So far, education of 56 girls has been revived under Nanda Sunanda; so far an amount of Rs. 19.24 lakh has been distributed.
