CM Dhami’s big step: High altitude ultra marathon will be held in Uttarakhand, tourism will get a new dimension!

Haridwar, Dehradun. Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday gave instructions to start high altitude ultra marathon in Uttarakhand during a high-level meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence. The objective of this event is to promote tourism and adventure sports activities in the state.
The Chief Minister clarified that this marathon will be organized from Gunji to Adi Kailash in Kumaon region and from Niti-Mana to Malari in Garhwal region. He directed the officials to include it in the annual tourism calendar of the state and ensure regular organization on the scheduled date every year.
The Chief Minister said that the high Himalayan valleys of Uttarakhand are rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. Such events will not only give global recognition to the state’s tourism but will also provide employment and sports opportunities to the local youth.
In the meeting, CM Dhami, while giving instructions to make the disaster management system more strong, asked to ensure that timely assistance is provided to the disaster affected. Also, he asked to prepare a systematic plan for fencing and solar fencing for the protection of crops in border and mountainous areas.

Principal Secretary Mr. R.K. Sudhanshu, Mr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Mr. Shailesh Bagoli, and Additional Secretary Mr. Banshidhar Tiwari were present in this important meeting.
This decision is being considered a milestone in the tourism development of the state. Experts believe that events like high altitude ultra marathon will not only promote adventure tourism but will also prove effective in establishing Uttarakhand as the capital of adventure sports.
