West Indies and South Africa: A three-match T20 series is to be played between West Indies  (West Indies) and South Africa. The West Indies team has announced its squad for this series. Two legendary T20 players are not present in this squad. These players are none other than Andre Russell and Jason Holder. Both these players had asked for rest from Cricket West Indies and the board has decided to give rest to both of them against South Africa. Let us tell you that this series will be played from 23 to 27 August. All the matches of the series will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy Stadium in Trinidad.

Why both the players got rest

While announcing the squad for the T20 series to be played against South Africa, the West Indies Director of Cricket said that Andre Russell has asked for time to rest and recover, as has Jason Holder, who has played five consecutive Test matches against England and South Africa. During this time, he will work closely with the science and medical team of Cricket West Indies.

Big statement of the team’s head coach

West Indies head coach Darren Sammy said that facing a strong South African team is a great opportunity for our team to rebuild and refocus their game plan. We have played with them recently and we have got quite mixed results, so it should be an exciting and important series. I am confident in the team we have selected, and with an eye on the next T20 World Cup in 2026, I know the players will be very eager to achieve success.
