Elections to be held on 8 seats(Elections)

Lucknow: After the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections,  (Elections) assembly by-elections are to be held on eight seats in Uttar Pradesh because MLAs from these areas have been elected as MPs. According to the rule, they will have to leave one of the two seats now. By-elections will be held on whatever seats are vacant. BJP will have to go through a tough test once again in this by-election. Out of the eight seats in the state on which by-elections are to be held, three were with BJP. In this, Nishad Party’s candidate won on BJP’s symbol. Apart from this, four seats were with SP and one with RLD.

Elections to be held within 6 months

After his resignation, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s Karhal assembly seat will become vacant. He is also the leader of the opposition. He has now become an MP from Kannauj. MLA Lalji Verma from Ambedkar Nagar’s Katehari seat has also been elected as MP. Ayodhya’s Milkipur MLA Awadhesh Pratap Singh has become MP from Faizabad.

Similarly, MLA Ziaur Rahman Barq from Kundarki assembly constituency of Sambhal has now become MP after winning the election from Sambhal seat. MLA Chandan Chauhan from Mirapur seat in the west has been elected MP from Bijnor. Elections are to be held on these seats within 6 months.

BJP faces this challenge

Actually, BJP faces the challenge of saving its three seats as well as snatching seats from the opposition because in the by-election results that came on June 4, BJP got two seats and SP got two seats. BJP had to lose Duddhi seat of Robertsganj.
