Heat wave outbreak: Severe heat has started in many states of India. The temperature is continuously increasing in most places. In such a situation, where people are facing problems due to heat wave, doctors say that intense heat can also increase the risk of brain stroke. Brain stroke is a fatal condition in which blood ( blood) flow to the brain stops or the veins of the brain burst. This causes damage to the brain cells, which affects various functions of the body.
According to doctors, the body has to work harder to maintain body temperature during extreme heat. This can increase blood pressure, which increases the risk of clots forming in the veins. Additionally, the body can also become a victim of dehydration, due to which the thickness of the blood increases and blood flow slows down. Both these conditions can cause brain stroke.
Some symptoms of brain stroke occurring in summer
– sudden severe headache – weakness or numbness in one part of the body, especially in the face, arm or leg – trouble speaking or slurred speech – vision problems, such as blurred or double vision in one eye – dizziness, imbalance or Lack of coordination- sudden fainting
If you or someone around you sees these symptoms during summer, take them to the doctor immediately. Brain stroke is a time dependent disease, that is, the sooner treatment is received, the less damage is done.
Some important precautions to avoid brain stroke in summer
– Avoid exposure to direct sunlight during the afternoon when the intensity of the sun is highest. – Keep drinking water throughout the day so that the body does not get dehydrated. – Wear light and loose clothes.
