Voting today on 40 seats of Mizoram(Mizoram)

Delhi: Voting has started today in Mizoram and Chhattisgarh. Assembly elections of five states, which are being considered as semi-finals before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, are starting from today. Today i.e. Tuesday there is voting in two states Mizoram  (Mizoram) and Chhattisgarh. Voting is going on today for 40 seats of Mizoram Assembly, while the first phase of voting will also be held in Chhattisgarh, in which voting will be done on 20 seats. Preparations for voting on the seats of Mizoram and Chhattisgarh have been completed and voters are seen standing in queues since morning to exercise their franchise. More than 8.57 lakh voters will decide the electoral fate of 174 candidates amid tight security arrangements in Mizoram. At the same time, 40,78,681 voters of the state will decide the fate of 223 candidates in 20 seats of four other districts including Naxal-affected Bastar division and Rajnandgaon of Chhattisgarh. First phase voting begins in Chhattisgarh
Voting for the first phase has started in Chhattisgarh. Voting will be held on 20 seats in the first phase, in which 40 lakh voters will vote at 5,304 polling stations.
Strict security arrangements at polling stations
Complete preparations have been made for voting in Chhattisgarh. Voting will start from 7 am in Konta assembly constituency.
How many candidates in Mizoram elections?
A total of 174 candidates, including 18 women, are in the fray in Mizoram elections. The ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), main opposition Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) and Congress have fielded candidates on all 40 seats. BJP and newcomer Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are contesting on 23 and 4 seats respectively. 27 independent candidates are in the fray.
EVMs reached Chhattisgarh by helicopter for voting
Today, for the first phase of voting, polling teams have reached many Naxal-affected areas in remote areas of Chhattisgarh with EVMs in helicopters of security forces. In the first phase, voting is to be held on 20 seats of Chhattisgarh, most of which are sensitive.
Voting on all 40 seats in Mizoram
Voting for assembly elections will be held for all 40 seats in Mizoram today i.e. on Tuesday. Amid tight security arrangements, more than 8.57 lakh voters will decide the electoral fate of 174 candidates. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Madhup Vyas said that voting will begin at 7 am in all 1,276 polling stations in Mizoram and will continue till 4 pm.
Where and when voting in the first phase in Chhattisgarh
Out of the 20 assembly constituencies of the first phase of Chhattisgarh elections, 10 assembly constituencies Mohla-Manpur, Antagarh, Bhanupratappur, Kanker, Keshkal, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Dantewada, Bijapur and Konta assembly constituencies will be held from 7 am to 3 pm and ten assembly constituencies Voting will be held from 8 am to 5 pm in Pandaria, Kawardha, Khairagarh, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Dongargaon, Khujji, Bastar, Jagdalpur and Chitrakote assembly constituencies.
First round of voting in Chhattisgarh today
The first round of voting is today in Chhattisgarh. In the first round, voting will be held today on 20 seats in the Naxal-affected Bastar division of the state and four other districts including Rajnandgaon. In the first phase of voting, 40,78,681 voters of the state will decide the fate of 223 candidates. All security arrangements have been made. In 10 Naxal-affected districts, voting will start from 7 am and end at 3 pm, while in 10 other districts, voting will continue from 8 am to 5 pm.
