Chennai (Chennai )snatched victory from the jaws of Gujarat

New Delhi. On the basis of fours on the last ball of Ravindra Jadeja, Chennai (Chennai ) Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets in the final and won the IPL title for the 5th time. In the rain-interrupted match, CSK got a revised target of 171 runs in 15 overs. He achieved the target for 5 wickets in 15 overs. Batting first, Gujarat scored 214 runs for 4 wickets. Chasing the target, after the third ball of the first over of CSK’s innings, it started raining again, in which a lot of time was lost. Late in the night at 12:10, the match was reduced to 15 overs and CSK was given a revised target. CSK had scored 4 runs before the rain.

The opening pair of Rituraj Gaikwad and Devon Conway gave CSK a bang. Both shared a 74-run partnership for the first wicket. Rituraj was caught by Rashid Khan on the ball of Noor Ahmed. Gaikwad was dismissed after scoring 26 runs in 16 balls. After this, Devon Conway also could not stay at the crease for long and kept walking after handing over the wicket to Noor Ahmed. Conway scored 47 runs off 25 balls. Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed after scoring 27 runs while Ambati Rayudu contributed 19 runs. Dhoni could not do anything special and returned to the pavilion on the very first ball. He was caught by Mohit Sharma at the hands of Miller. Shivam Dubey returned unbeaten after scoring 32 and Ravindra Jadeja scored 19 runs. Mohit Sharma took 3 wickets while Noor Ahmed took 2 wickets from Gujarat.

Gujarat scored 214 runs for 4 wickets
Earlier, with the help of Sai Sudarshan’s 96 off 47 balls, Gujarat Titans scored 214 for 4. Sudarshan hit 8 fours and 6 sixes in his innings. He gave Gujarat a huge score by playing important partnerships. Earlier, Shubman Gill was dismissed for 39 in 20 balls and Wriddhiman Saha scored a half-century. In the very second over, Gill played a shot down the leg side off Tushar Deshpande but Deepak Chahar, standing at short fine leg, dropped the catch. Gill, however, could not repeat the performance against Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier.

Dhoni did wonders in stumping
From the other end, Saha put pressure on Chennai by scoring 16 runs in the third over. After this, Gill hit Deshpande for three consecutive fours while Saha’s return catch was dropped by Chahar. After the powerplay, Gujarat’s score was 62 runs without any loss. In the seventh over, however, Mahendra Singh Dhoni sent Gill to the pavilion while presenting an example of efficient stumping while the bowler was Ravindra Jadeja. Gill hit . 59 in 17 games this season. 33 average and 157. Scored 890 runs at a strike rate of 80, which is the second best performance by a batsman in the history of IPL.

Pathirana stopped Sudarshan from a century
Saha completed his second half-century in this IPL in the 13th over. The 64-run partnership between him and Sai Sudarshan ended in the 14th over when Chahar had him caught by Dhoni. Saha scored 54 runs in 39 balls with the help of five fours and a six. Sudarshan, the second batsman to score the most runs for Gujarat this season, completed his third half-century by hitting Mathisha Pathirana for consecutive fours. He hit Teekshana for two sixes while Deshpande hit three fours and a six. In the last over, Pathirana dismissed Sudarshan LBW and denied him a century. Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 21 runs in 12 balls.
