According to Arun Sinha’s 2011 book ‘Nitish Kumar and the Rise of Bihar’, when the Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) and Samras Samaj Party (SSP) reached the rural areas of Bihar in the 1970s, the social fabric of the state gradually started changing.
