Tractor caught illegally excavating sand in Ghoghra Nala

Korba, June 06. In Korbi Circle of Kendai forest range of the district, the forest department team caught a tractor driver red-handed while illegally excavating sand and filling it in the trolley and took action under the sections of the Indian Forest Act. The vehicle has also been seized by the department.

According to the information received, the forest department officials had received information from an informer that Ghoghra Nala is located in Korbi Circle of Kendai Range under Katghora Forest Division, from where sand smugglers are illegally excavating and transporting minor mineral sand on a large scale through the forest. The officials took the informer’s information seriously and formed a team and instructed to investigate. When the forest department team raided Ghoghra Nala on the instructions of the officials, a person was found illegally excavating sand in a tractor and filling it in a trolley. On interrogation, he told his name as Surendra father Lal Singh Gond resident of village Bhadra (Chhinpuri). He drives a tractor. When the forest workers asked the accused to provide documents regarding excavation and transportation of sand, he failed to produce them, upon which the tractor was immediately seized and brought to the forest residential complex Morga. After the accused accepted the forest crime, action is being taken against the driver and his owner under the sections of the Forest Act. During interrogation, the accused also told that the tractor belonged to a person named Murarilal Jaiswal, on whose instructions he was excavating sand to be used in the gravel brick kiln and filling it in the tractor trolley. Forest officials Prahlad Sidar, Pankaj Khairwar, Ashok Shrivas, Rampratap Kushwaha, Gangaram Netam, Pritam Purai and Sunil Kumar Dixena played a major role in catching the crime.
