Horrific scene of violence in Nepall’ (Nepal)

Kathmandu: Situation has gone out of control in Nepal’ (Nepal) s capital Kathmandu on Friday despite deployment of army. Two people have died in violent clashes between pro-monarchy protesters and police. While at least 30 people have been injured. It is being told that pro-monarchy protesters pelted stones and attacked the office of a political party, due to which one person died in the violence that broke out, while 30 others were injured.

Vehicles set on fire

Protesters also set vehicles on fire and looted shops, after which the army was called in, while curfew was imposed in some parts. District authorities said that the curfew will remain in force for about five hours i.e. till 10 pm and no one will be allowed to move around in some areas. Authorities said several police personnel were injured as police tried to disperse protesters who were pelting stones and trying to break security barricades. They said half of those injured were policemen.

In another part of the Nepalese capital, a separate rally was held by those who were opposing the return of monarchy in the country. Monarchy supporters in Kathmandu’s Tinkune area were holding Nepal flags and a photo of former King Gyanendra Shah in their hands. During the clash, protesters burned a house, set eight vehicles on fire, attacked the CPN-Unified Socialists Party office in Baneshwor, looted Bhatbhateni supermarket in Chabahil and vandalized the offices of Kantipur Television and Annapurna Post newspaper. The Kathmandu district administration announced curfew in Koteshwar, Tinkune, airport area, Baneshwor Chowk and Gaushala, the area between Shantinagar Bridge and Manohara River Bridge. Officials said that if people show their tickets, they will be allowed to go to the airport.
