Report Sandeep Pathak,, Intensive enforcement campaign conducted in Haridwar district as per instructions issued by District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, expected recovery of ₹15.36 lakh, 103 vehicles seized, 6 night checks and 2 joint inspections completed*
In line with the clear instructions of District Magistrate Haridwar, the Transport Department Uttarakhand conducted an intensive enforcement campaign in the district Haridwar (including Haridwar and Roorkee areas) from 23 June to 28 June 2025. In this one week, extensive and effective action was taken against vehicles violating road safety rules.

Total cases – 61 (Haridwar: 29, Roorkee: 32)
Vehicles seized for overloading – 25 (Haridwar: 13, Roorkee: 12)

Total vehicles seized:
103 (due to overloading, permit, insurance, fitness or serious violations)
Night Check:
For 6 nights, an intensive checking campaign was carried out by the Special Enforcement Team on the main roads, highways and border points of Haridwar and Roorkee.
Joint inspection:
Two joint inspections were also successfully conducted by the Transport Department in collaboration with the Police and other related departments.
Other enforcement actions:
On-the-spot challan, document seizure and vehicle seizure action was taken against vehicles found without valid insurance, registration certificate, fitness or driving licence.
Appeal in public interest
Transport Department, District Haridwar, appeals to all vehicle owners and drivers to avoid overloading, overspeeding and driving without valid documents. Keep all the documents of your vehicle updated on time, drive the vehicle only with a valid driving license, and pay tax/challan on time.
This enforcement campaign will continue regularly under the guidance of the District Magistrate, so that road safety can be ensured in the district.
