Delhi: Indian Army’s Deputy Chief (Army Chie) of Army Staff (Capability Development and Sustainance) Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh spoke openly about the India-Pakistan border tension and the challenges faced during Operation Sindoor in the program. He told that not only Pakistan, but China and Turkey also played an important role in this operation, due to which India has felt the need to further strengthen its air defense system.
What was China’s role?
Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh revealed that Pakistan was getting real-time intelligence from China during Operation Sindoor. He said, “When DGMO (Director General of Military Operations) level talks were going on between India and Pakistan, Pakistan was getting live information about our important military activities. This information was coming from China.” He also pointed out that 81% of the military equipment Pakistan possesses is Chinese, and this operation provided an opportunity for China to test its weapons like a ‘live lab’.
What was Turkey’s role?
Lt. Gen Rahul R Singh has told that Turkey also provided drones and other assistance to Pakistan. Lt. Gen Singh said- “Turkey provided drones like Bayaktar and trained people during the war.” He emphasized that India now faced the challenge of dealing with three fronts simultaneously – Pakistan, China and Turkey.
Why did Pakistan ask for ceasefire?
Lt. Gen Singh said that in Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army took such precise and effective action that Pakistan was forced to ask for ceasefire. He said- “We had another big attack ready. Pakistan realized that if this attack happened, their situation would become very bad. So they appealed for ceasefire.” This strategic move reflects India’s military strength and diplomatic cleverness.
Need for air defense
Lieutenant General Singh praised the strength of India’s air defense system, but also warned that there is a need to be more vigilant in the future. He said, “This time our cities and populated areas were not attacked, but next time we have to be prepared for it.” He stressed that India needs to develop a strong and multi-layered air defense system to counter threats coming from countries like Pakistan, China and Turkey.
What did the Deputy Army Chief say on the ceasefire decision?
Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh also spoke on the issue of the ceasefire decision. He said, “When we achieve a military goal, we should try to stop it. It is easy to start a war, but it is very difficult to control it. So I would say that it was a very brilliant step taken to stop the war at the right time.”
