The trend of local airlines receiving bomb threats for their flights persisted for a fourth day on Thursday, when two international flights—one operated by Vistara and the other by IndiGo—were similarly threatened. Similar bomb threats were made for seven aircraft operated by IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Akasa earlier on Wednesday. Earlier on Monday and Tuesday, identical threats were received by around a dozen flights that were operated by Indian carriers. The Boeing 787 airplane carrying 147 passengers on a Vistara trip from Frankfurt to Mumbai was subjected to security inspections as soon as it arrived on Thursday due to a bomb threat, the airline stated. Simultaneously, an IndiGo aircraft departing from Istanbul in Turkey for Mumbai was subjected to a bomb threat and was then brought to an isolation bay so that security agents could conduct a thorough security assessment. “The Vistara flight UK 028 operating from Frankfurt to Mumbai on October 16, 2024, was subject to a security threat received on social media,” the airline stated. The aircraft safely landed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, according to protocol, it said, adding that all pertinent authorities were notified right away. “It was brought to the isolation bay, where all of the patrons got off. Vistara stated in the statement, “We are completely collaborating with the security services to finish the required security inspections.
