New Delhi: At a time when the Indian Air Defense System successfully foiled Pakistani missiles and drone attacks during Operation Sindoor, now the strength of the Indian Army is going to increase further. The Indian Army will get Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile System (QRSAM) worth 30,000 crores. According to defense officials, the Defense Ministry is considering a proposal to buy three regiments of QRSAM (QRSAM ) for deployment on the western and northern borders of the country.
What is QRSAM air defense system, what is its specialty?
QRSAM means Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile system. It is an indigenous missile. It has been developed by DRDO for the Indian Army.
These missile systems will be purchased for three regiments. They will be used on the western and northern borders of the country.
They can move very fast. It can search and track enemy targets while on the move. Also, it can fire even after stopping at short stops.
The range of this missile is about 30 KM. It will work in conjunction with the MRSAM and Akash missile systems already present in the army.
It is highly mobile, as it has the ability to search, track and destroy moving targets in a very short time.
This will make short and medium range security even stronger. QRSAM, along with the rest of the missiles, will help protect the country from enemy air attacks.
Defense officials said that in the fourth week of this month, the Defense Ministry is going to consider the proposal to buy three regiments of QRSAM surface-to-air missiles for the army.
