Chanakya Niti: At some point in your childhood, you must have heard or read about Chanakya that how he avenged his insult by dethroning a king and giving the throne to a carpenter’s son. Acharya Chanakya handed over the throne to Chandragupta Maurya and also made him a capable king. Along with this, he also wrote a book on ideal life, which is called Chanakya Niti or Niti Shastra. By implementing many things written in Niti Shastra in one’s life, a person can live an ideal life.
Chanakya has told that many people (People) remain poor throughout their life due to many reasons. The first reason is their karma, the second is living in the wrong place. Chanakya said that these people have a big hand in being poor, in Chanakya Niti, he has said a line which is as follows-
Dhanik: Shrotriyo Raja Nadi Vaidyastu Pancham:
Pancha Yatra Na Vidyayante Na Tatra Divase Vaset॥
Acharya Chanakya says in the 9th verse of the first chapter of Niti Shastra that people living in some five places always remain poor and unhappy in their lives. These people cannot progress even if they want to. These people live a life like lecherous and foolish people. They neither have the knowledge of the scriptures nor do they even try to learn.
Which 5 places should one not live in?
According to Acharya Chanakya, the place where no Brahmin who knows the Vedas lives, the people living in such a place always remain poor. Therefore, this place should be left immediately. Acharya Chanakya believed that Brahmins protect religion through religious work.
Dhanik means business- At the place where business people do not live, the people of that place also remain poor. This place should also be left immediately.
Also, at the place where the mighty kings do not live, there is no governance. In such a situation, anarchy spreads. Therefore, no one can do development by living here. Even if one does, there is a loss of money.
Water is life, that is, at the place where there is no river, it is not right to live there. Life is very difficult without a river. Water is necessary for both life and irrigation.
Apart from this, at the place where there is no Vaidya, that is, it is not right to live there because their presence is essential for the treatment of any disease. One should not live in such a place either.
