New Delhi, June 29. Google-owned Youtube is working on bringing online gaming to its platform, which can be called ‘playables’. Youtube is working on online gaming at a time when streaming giant netflix is also entering the gaming world. The video-sharing platform is testing an online game offering that could let users play games via the YouTube website on desktop or the YouTube app via iOS and Android devices.
According to the report, according to an email sent to Google employees, Youtube is testing the product internally to play online games. This signals Google’s ambitions to move beyond video hosting to games that can be easily played and shared between users. YouTube is already a popular destination for gamers. The new gaming offering will include arcade-style games such as Stack Bounce, where players use a bouncing ball to break layers of bricks. A spokesperson for the company said that gaming has been a long-standing focus on Youtube. We’re always experimenting with new features, but we don’t have anything to announce right now, the spokesperson said. The gaming experiment on YouTube comes after Google shut down its cloud gaming service called Stadia earlier this year after it failed to gain popularity among users.
