Bangalore: A young man who went for a walk on Nandi Hill in Bangalore fell down. He had fallen on a small rock about 250 feet below the hill and death was slowly approaching him. Then a great miracle happened.
According to the information, a 19-year-old youth had gone trekking on Nandi Hill in the city on Sunday evening. There his foot slipped and he fell down from the high hill. While hitting the stones, he went down 250 feet and got stuck on a small rock. There was a deep ditch beneath him, falling into which meant death.
Chikbalpur Superintendent of Police GK Mithun Kumar said that a 19-year-old student from Delhi, studying in an engineering college in Bengaluru, fell into a ditch and got trapped there. While hitting the stones, he went down 250 feet and got stuck on a small rock. There was a deep ditch beneath him, falling into which meant death.
Kumar said, ‘Nishank had come alone for trekking and fell into the gorge. After slipping, he luckily got stuck in one place. Had he slipped from there, he would have fallen on the cliff about 300 feet below.
He said that the youth messaged the police control room and shared his location. Soon, a team of police along with SDRF and NDRF went to the rescue, but could not help.
Air Force helicopter reached the spot
The young man who fell from the hill was stuck on a rock below, where no team was able to reach. After this the Air Force was called for help. An Air Force helicopter reached the spot. After this, a commando tied the rope around the waist and landed on the cliff below the helicopter and picked up the injured youth and brought it to the helicopter. Which saved his life.
A statement issued by the Defense Department said that after that a Mi-17 helicopter was deployed to rescue the young man. Air Force personnel succeeded in getting the young man out of the ditch. After saving the life of the young man, his family members have thanked the police-administration as well as the Air Force. The video of this rescue operation is going viral on social media.
