Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed concern over the severe flooding in Nepal and directed authorities to increase vigilance in the border districts of Maharajganj and Kushinagar.
The flooding in Nepal’s Rasuwa region, including the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river areas, has raised concerns about a possible rise in water levels of the Gandak and Narayani rivers in Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister has instructed local administrations to closely monitor the situation and ensure all necessary preparedness measures.
Reports indicate that a large number of Indian tourists have been stranded in parts of Nepal due to flooding and waterlogging. Efforts are underway to ensure their safe return to India.
CM Yogi described the damage caused by the floods as deeply concerning and emphasized the need for constant monitoring and timely action in the border areas.
