IAS Bhanu Chandra Goswami: IAS (DM of Agra) Bhanu Chandra Goswami is currently the DM of Agar. He was given this charge in 2023. Goswami is a 2010 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He was born on 20 August 1984 in Ranchi city of Jharkhand. His father Harishchandra Goswami was working as Labor Superintendent in Bihar/Jharkhand Government. His grandfather Ram Naval Goswami was posted in Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) Ranchi.
Talking about the family, the name of IAS Bhanu Chandra Goswami’s wife is Megha Goswami. Most of the people in Bhanu Chandra Goswami’s family have held high positions. His real uncle is Keshav Chandra Goswami, who is Additional Superintendent of Police in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
IAS Bhanu Chandra Goswami’s early education started at Saraswati Shishu Mandir and Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Hazaribagh (Jharkhand). After that IAS Bhanu Chandra Goswami took a graduation degree in Sanskrit (Hons) from St. Columbus College Hazaribagh with first division. After this he came to Allahabad (Prayagraj) to prepare for competitive examination and spent one year in Allahabad (Prayagraj).
After completing his studies, he went to Delhi to prepare for the Civil Services Examination. There Bhanu Chandra Goswami was selected for the “Indian Administrative Service” (IAS) by securing 33rd position in the 2009 batch. After becoming an IAS, he came to Uttar Pradesh cadre and got his first posting in Agra. Bhanu Chandra Goswami chose Psychology as an optional subject in the prelims exam and Psychology and Sanskrit as optional subjects in the mains.

Contribution to Agra
Security of Taj Mahal: Goswami has focused on strengthening the security system of the Taj Mahal. He has introduced drone surveillance around the monument, deployment of FSI security personnel and better facilities for tourists.
Promoting tourism: He has taken several initiatives to promote tourism, such as organizing the “Taj Mahotsav”, building better lighting and roads around the monument, and launching a mobile app for tourists.
Improving education: He has also worked to improve education, improving infrastructure in government schools and focusing on teacher training.
