Hyderabad: Opal Suchata (l Suchata ) Chuangsri of Thailand has become the 72nd Miss World. India’s Nandini Gupta participated in this title held in India for the third time and was out of the continental top-2. Miss Martinique secured fourth place, Miss Poland secured third place and Miss Ethiopia secured second place. The 72nd Miss World 2025 started today at 6:30 pm at HITEX Exhibition Center in Telangana, Hyderabad. The grand finale of Miss World 2025 began with the introduction of 108 contestants. After this round, the hosts announced the top 10 from each continent. Several other rounds took place and then the top 4 were announced. After the top 4 were announced, the jury asked each contestant a question, helping them decide the next Miss World.
Who is Opal Suchata Chuangsri?
Opal Suchata Chuangsri is a model and a student of international relations. Suchata would like to become an ambassador one day. According to her profile on the Miss World Organization, Opal also has an interest in psychology and anthropology. Opal has volunteered for organizations supporting breast cancer and her proudest moment was when one of her supporters said she is ‘cancer free and I had inspired her during her battle, when I myself faced surgery at the age of 16, I realized that my greatest fear was losing the chance to live my dreams.’ Opal has the special talent of playing the guitar upside down and has sixteen cats and five dogs as pets. She says her personal motto in life is ‘knowing that one life has been able to breathe easier because of you living, that is success.’

Along with India, only Venezuela has won this title 6 times. However, there were hopes from Nandini to make India the winner for the seventh time, which were shattered as soon as she was out. This competition was held in Bengaluru in the year 1996. After this, this competition has been organized in Mumbai in 2024 and this year in Hyderabad, Telangana. India and Venezuela have won this title the most 6-6 times so far. India’s last Miss World was Manushi Chillar. Rita Faria was the first to adorn this title for India. After this, Aishwarya Rai won this title in 1994 and Diana Hayden was also the winner of this title in 1997. Yukta Mookhey won this title in 1999 and Priyanka Chopra in 2000.
