Washington. The US State Department has approved the sale of ammunition worth $165 million, announcing new military aid and diplomatic support for Ukraine. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has approved the potential sale and provided the legally required notification to Congress. America’s top diplomat has promised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky millions of dollars in munitions. Here, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, after returning from a visit to Kyiv on Monday, said that we want Russia to be weak so that it cannot attack Ukraine. Lloyd has said that if Ukraine is supplied with the right weapons, it will defeat Russia.
Lloyd Austin said, “The first step to winning a war is that you must believe that you can win.” That’s why they believe that we can win. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have returned from a visit to Kyiv. For the first time since Russia’s attack on Ukraine, two big leaders from the US went to Ukraine together. The two ministers met with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Austin said that American diplomats will gradually start going to Ukraine. He has pledged $700 million in additional munitions aid to Ukraine.
Russia expels 40 German diplomats
Meanwhile, Russia has decided to expel 40 German diplomats. A similar number of Russian diplomats were expelled by Germany earlier this month. The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday that it had summoned German Ambassador Geja Andreas von Geyer to register a strong protest over the apparently unfavorable decision to expel Russian diplomatic personnel. The ministry said von Geyer was told that 40 members of the German diplomatic mission in Russia would be expelled. Significantly, on April 4, Germany announced the expulsion of 40 Russian diplomats.
