Geneva. Just a few months before the completion of three years of the corono virus epidemic, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed hope that the end of this deadly epidemic is now near. He said on Wednesday that the world has never looked in a better position to end this disease. However, along with this, he urged all countries to continue their efforts to deal with this virus, which has so far killed more than 65 lakh people worldwide.
WHO chief Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters on Wednesday, ‘We have never been in a better position to end the pandemic. We are not there yet, but the end is near.’ However, he added, ‘But the world needs to take steps to ‘use this opportunity’. If we don’t seize this opportunity now, we will be at risk of more variants, more deaths, more disruption and more uncertainty.
