New Delhi. The Central Government has appointed Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar as the next Navy Chief. He will replace the current Chief Admiral Karambir Singh, who is retiring on 30 November. Hari Kumar is currently the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command.
The ministry said in a statement, “The government has appointed Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar, who is currently the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command, has been appointed as the next Navy Chief with effect from November 30.
During his long and distinguished service of nearly 39 years, the Vice Admiral has served in various command, staff and instructional appointments. Vice Admiral Kumar’s maritime command includes INS Nishank, Missile Corvette, INS Kora and Guided Missile Destroyer INS Ranvir.
