US claims to have shot down Iranian drone( drone )

Washington: The ongoing tension between the US and Iran appears to be reaching a peak. There are reports of a confrontation between the two countries in the middle of the Arabian Sea. The US claims to have shot down an Iranian drone   ( drone )   that was approaching its warship. The US Central Command says that a US Navy fighter jet shot down an Iranian drone that was approaching the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea. The US Navy says the drone was approaching the warship in a very aggressive manner.
‘Shahed-139’ was approaching the USS Abraham Lincoln
According to the US military statement, the Iranian Shahed-139 drone was dangerously approaching the US warship deployed in international waters. Despite warnings from the US military and attempts to de-escalate the situation, when the drone did not retreat, an F-35C fighter jet deployed on the warship shot it down in mid-air. According to the information, at the time of the incident, the US warship was approximately 800 kilometers from the southern coast of Iran.

Also chased a merchant ship
According to the US military, another incident occurred just hours after this event. In the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) attempted to harass the US-flagged merchant ship ‘Stena Imperative’. Two Iranian boats and a ‘Mohajer’ drone chased the ship at high speed. According to the US military, the Iranian forces also threatened to seize and board the tanker.

US calls it a provocative act
The US Central Command has clarified that no US personnel were injured and no equipment was damaged in the action to shoot down the Iranian drone. However, these two incidents have raised serious questions about security in the Gulf region. The US has described them as “provocative actions” carried out by Iran.
