Chandigarh: India’s most wanted gangster Goldie Brar can soon be brought to India from America. Top officials of the Punjab Police informed that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation i.e. FBI has contacted the state police in this regard. Regarding Goldie Brar, the FBI contacted the Punjab Police through the Ministry of External Affairs and sought information about the main conspirator in Sidhu Musewala’s murder. Goldie Brar was caught from Sacramento City, California. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had also confirmed that the most wanted gangster Goldie Brar would be brought to India as soon as possible. The American agency is considering this communication of FBI as a big success in relation to Goldie Brar’s extradition. He had been in Canada since 2017 and recently moved to the US fearing law enforcement and rival gangs. He was taken into custody around 20 November. It was Brar who allegedly conspired to kill Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala, and also took responsibility for it through a Facebook post. Singer Sidhu Musewala, who has made his mark at the international level, was shot dead on May 29 near his village in Mansa district of Punjab.
Three accused have been killed in the encounter for their involvement in this massacre, while more than 30 have been arrested. Goldie Brar is a member of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. Bishnoi is lodged in Tihar Jail. To avoid arrest, Brar was sometimes hiding in Canada and sometimes in America and other countries. Goldie Brar, whose full name is Satinderjit Singh, originally moved to Canada on a student visa five years ago, where he was working as a truck driver. Natives of Muktsar district in Punjab’s southern region bordering Haryana and Rajasthan, Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi became friends during their days of student politics in Chandigarh nearly a decade ago.
At the time of Musewala’s murder in May, Lawrence Bishnoi was in Tihar Jail – from where he was running his gang. In her Facebook post, Goldie Brar had said that she got Sidhu Musewala killed in “revenge” for the murder of Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera. Moosewaja’s father Balkaur Singh had recently announced a reward of Rs 2 crore for helping in the capture of Brar. He had said that even if I have to sell or mortgage everything I own, I will pay the person who arrested the conspirator of my son’s murder. At the same time, senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia said on Saturday that he did not trust Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s statement. He claimed that he has concrete information that Goldie Brar has not been arrested yet. CM Mann’s statement is misleading. Will the DGP confirm that Brar has been caught in America. If he is really caught then make it public.
