River of Sona India: All rivers flow in India. Every river has its own story. Today we are going to tell you about a river flowing in the country, in which gold flows along with water for centuries. You will be surprised to know that even after hundreds of years, scientists have not been able to know why gold flows in this river. That is, the gold of this river is still a mystery to the scientists.
This river flows in the state of Jharkhand. Due to the flow of gold along with the water in the river, it is known as Swarnarekha River. It is also called the river of gold. There are some such places in Jharkhand, where local tribals go to this river in the morning and collect gold particles after sifting sand throughout the day. Many generations have been engaged in this work. There are areas like Tamad and Saranda where men, women and children wake up in the morning to collect gold from the river.
You must be thinking that the people here must have become very rich by collecting gold from the river! So let us tell you that collecting gold particles is very hard work. People have to work hard throughout the day to collect gold from the sand of the river. The people of the tribal family work throughout the day to find gold particles in the water. Usually a person is able to remove only one or two gold particles after a day’s work. Many times, after working hard all day, not a single particle is found.
On an average, a person can remove only 60 to 80 gold particles in a month. Sometimes it becomes difficult to remove even 30 gold particles in a month. These particles are also equal to or smaller than a grain of rice. He earns 80 to 100 rupees by selling one particle. In this way, on an average, a person earns only 5 to 8 thousand rupees in a month by selling gold particles. Although the price of a particle in the market is sometimes Rs 300 or more.
Where does the gold in this river come from? Geologists are of the opinion that the river passes through all the rocks. The pieces of gold found in these rocks break down due to friction and get mixed in it. After this, they move forward by flowing along the river. This river originates from Jharkhand and flows in some areas of West Bengal and Odisha.
Apart from Swarnarekha, in some places the river is also known as ‘Subarna Rekha’. The origin of Swarnrekha river is about 16 km from Ranchi. Its total length is 474 km. You will be surprised to know that gold particles are also found in the sand of ‘Karkari’, a tributary of the Golden Line. While some people also say that the gold particles found in the Swarna Rekha river, they come only after flowing from the Karkari river.
