Tehran: US President Donald Trump could order a major attack (attack! ) on Iran in the coming days. According to an Axios report citing senior US and Israeli officials, the US is sending dozens of aerial refueling tankers to Israel as the latter prepares to launch a major military operation against Iran. A statement broadcast on Iranian state television declared, “The Americans are drawing closer to the ‘zero hour’ of the Iranian military’s operation against CENTCOM naval units in the region’s waters.” The statement concluded with a warning: “Wait and see.”
**Trump Preparing for an Attack on Iran**
To prepare for the strike, the US will operate aerial refueling tankers from Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport; the US intends to deploy its refueling aircraft to Israel. Currently, it has approximately 30 military refueling aircraft stationed at Ben Gurion Airport, with an equal number located at Ramon Airport in the country’s south. The US plans to operate these tankers from Ben Gurion because other airbases in the region face a higher risk of Iranian attack and would be less secure for American aircraft.
**Iran Currently Reluctant to Clash with Israel**
For now, Iran is hesitant to attack Israel, fearing a massive retaliatory response. Trump held a high-level meeting in the White House Situation Room on Tuesday night, where senior officials discussed various military options—such as striking Iranian power plants or attacking nuclear facilities to bury their uranium stockpiles deeper underground.
**Trump Stands Firm on His Terms**
Other options include striking the Fordow (often referred to as ‘Pickaxe Mountain’) site—a heavily fortified underground facility believed to be linked to Iran’s nuclear program. Although Trump has not yet made a final decision, reports suggest he is willing to escalate the conflict sufficiently to ensure the Iranian government reopens the Strait of Hormuz and accedes to his terms regarding the nuclear issue.
**Iran Claims to Have Inflicted Damage on the US**
Iran claims to have destroyed several US jets… Iran claimed today that it attacked several US military aircraft stationed in Jordan using ballistic missiles and drones. In a statement, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) said they had destroyed “several US refueling aircraft and fighter jets” and caused “heavy damage to many others.”
