Pakistani military personnel attacked
This attack comes just hours after Pakistani military personnel were attacked with explosives while clearing the same railway track. Both attacks have raised serious security concerns on vital transportation routes in the restive province. Local authorities have confirmed that rescue and relief operations are underway to transport the injured to nearby hospitals, although details of the number of casualties are still unclear. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the derailment.
Baloch Liberation Army may be involved
Local media reported that one coach overturned, while two others derailed. Several passengers were injured and taken to nearby hospitals after rescue teams and ambulances were dispatched from Quetta. Pakistan Railways officials have confirmed the incident but have currently denied any casualties in the accident. It is believed that the Balochistan Liberation Army may be involved. Previously, in March 2025, Baloch insurgents hijacked the Jaffar Express train, killing 31 people in a clash with the Pakistani army.
