Ayodhya. The idol of Ramlala (Ramnagari.) that will be consecrated in the original sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple in Ayodhya will be of black colour. Members of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust held secret voting on Friday for the selection of the idol. Its result will be made public between January 5 and 10, but sources said, the idol of Ram Lalla which was liked by most of the members of the trust, has been made by Arun Yogiraj from Shyam Shila of Karnataka.
Three statues of Ramlala have been made
The decision of voting has been reserved with the Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das. Three statues of Ramlala have been made. Apart from Arun Yogiraj, these statues have been created by Ganesh Bhatt and Satyanarayan Pandey. The height of all three statues is 51-51 inches, they will be installed on an eight feet high base.
Earlier it was decided that out of the three idols to be made, only one would be installed in the sanctum sanctorum and the remaining two would be given to the interested devotees, but later it was decided that all three would be installed separately in the temple. On Friday, the members of the Trust first carefully observed all three statues and then expressed their views about the statue of their choice through secret voting.
Arun Yogiraj’s statue is expected to be selected
The Trust had selected the three artists for the creation of the statue after screening at several levels. The priority of the Trust was the statue expressing the innocent freshness of a five-year-old boy with the greatness of being the center of profound faith and all three statues have been built on this same sentiment. Arun Yogiraj, whose statue is expected to be selected, is the son of the famous sculptor Yogiraj Shilpi, resident of Mysore, Karnataka. His father was also known for beautifying the palaces of the Wadiyar family.
The constructed statue can be of the choice of the trust members.
The 30 feet high statue of Subhash Chandra Bose behind India Gate in Delhi is being built by Arun Yogiraj in 2022 as per the wish of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As soon as Arun Yogiraj’s name came up for the construction of the statue in the middle of this year, there was a possibility that the statue built by him could be the choice of the members of the trust. Ganesh Bhatt is also a representative sculptor of Karnataka’s style and he has also created the statue from Shyam Shila found in Mysore, while Satyanarayan Pandey of Rajasthan has molded Ramlala in marble. Satyanarayan is considered an expert in mixing traditional and contemporary styles.
