The train ran on the world’s highest rail bridge(train)

Katra: For the first time, a train  (train) P ran on the world’s highest railway bridge between the Himalayas and snow-covered mountains. The first trial run of the train on the Katra Banihal rail section on Saturday was successful. For the first time on this rail section, the train was run on the Katra-Banihal section, which is an important step towards the final statutory safety inspection next week. After the inspection, the Railway Safety Commissioner will submit a report on starting rail service to Kashmir. The railways have conducted six tests on various sections of the track last month, including India’s first cable-supported rail bridge, Anji Khad Bridge and the famous arch bridge (arch bridge) built on the Chenab river at Kauri. This ‘Arch Bridge’ is the world’s highest railway bridge.

Railway official gave big information

Sandeep Gupta, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL), told reporters, “We conducted today’s test as part of safety tests. We were part of this experimental test and it was successful.”

He said, “The Railway Safety Commissioner will conduct statutory inspection and tests on January 7 and 8. After this, the Commissioner will submit a report which will guide further action on starting train services to Kashmir. So far everything has been fine. We will return to Katra at a speed of 75 kmph. When the Railway Safety Commissioner will test, they will travel at a speed of 110 kmph. This test is part of that preparation. ”

Between Katra and Banihal, the train passed through snow-clad mountains, where a marvel of engineering was seen amid the beauty of nature. Officials said that the train reached Banihal railway station at around 1.30 pm. The aim of this project is to establish rail connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of the country. The total length of Anji Khad Bridge is 473.25 metres, of which the viaduct is 120 metres.
