Pathankot. Congress Legislature Party leader in Punjab Pratap Singh Bajwa on Thursday advised party MP Rahul Gandhi not to vote for a fake person as ‘Prime Minister’ next year, but instead to become himself. When Bajwa was saying this, the party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge was also present there.
In fact, a public meeting was held on the arrival of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Pathankot, where in the presence of Kharge, Legislature Party leader Pratap Singh Bajwa, State Congress President Amarinder Raja Brar and former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa also met Rahul Gandhi. Gandhi gave this advice.
Pratap Singh Bajwa said, ‘Promise and leave here, when you become Prime Minister in 24 years, you will become Prime Minister. This decision was heard today. Don’t say that later or make someone else do it. We don’t think so, let’s hear it from the stage. You will remain the Prime Minister. No one else to make us fake. Many of these were brought before, make it. No, we only believe you.’
At the same time, Amarinder Raja Brar said that the party should be wary of opportunists who come from other parties. Brar said that when we buy animals, we do a thorough check. Sukhjinder Randhawa also suggested the party leadership not to include wrong people in the party.
The statements of Brar and Sukhjinder Randhawa are being seen in reference to Manpreet Badal, who left the party a day before, in reference to Navjot Singh Sidhu. Although Sidhu is still in the Congress, he also joined the party from the BJP.
During a rally here on the last day of ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Punjab, Rahul Gandhi alleged that BJP is fighting one religion against another religion, one caste against another caste and one language against another language. The Congress leader alleged, ‘They (BJP) create fear. All his policies are a cause of fear for someone.’
On wearing a turban during a journey in Punjab, Gandhi said, ‘I wore a turban on purpose. I want to tell you your history. I respect the path shown by your gurus and bow my head before it, my path is also the same.’
During the rally, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Punjab State Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Wading, Opposition Leader Pratap Singh Bajwa, former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, senior leaders Jairam Ramesh, Harish Chaudhary, K. c. Venugopal and other leaders including Digvijay Singh were also present.
